Jordan turns 5!!

We are taking a short trip down memory lane with our adorable Jordan bug!
Typical Jordan face!

Loving to spend time with big brother!

Enjoying a good book.

And asleep with a sucker!!! Too cute!

On the day of his party, he hid behind dad's leg while we sang to him.

Then the little sister joined him for some mishcief.

And presents were opened.
I can't believe Jordan is 5!! He was my baby boy, and now he is almost ready for some schoolwork! He is so smart and very handsome. A real treat, he is. He can also be a class A stinker when he has a mind to! He has had my heart racing more than any of the other kids, I think. He hides, escapes, plots, sneaks, grins and is generally mischievous! But he is as sweet as a big puff of cotton candy and as cuddly as a favorite teddy bear.
He picked out lots of guns for his birthday. He loves guns: star wars guns, water guns, toy old west guns, pirate guns, nerf guns and others. He also got a new sleeping bag, which he loves, and a star wars costume and star wars t-shirts. He is not one to like being the center of attention so he was very quiet, but he had fun. Don't grow up too quickly little boy. You are precious!

King Tut

Tuesday we took Jordan to see the King Tut exhibit in Dallas. I hate going into downtown, and all that traffic. I am just not a big city person. The exhibit was really interesting and I think the kids liked it, but the staff was horrible. Our kids stayed right with us, weren't

loud, didn't push in from of people. However, Emily accidentally touched the 1 inch thick glass enclosing one of the displays and a guard immediately got all over her about not touching anything. Mind you, there were no signs saying do not touch the glass, and it was an accident. Then we went to a different part of the museum to a light display and the kids were in a light changing room. They were excited and all talking to one another about the cool colors and a guard came to tell us we had to be quiet, and that we were way too loud. Then we went to view paintings. There was a ledge under the paintings about 3 inches off the ground and about 2 feet deep. The little kids stepped on the ledge to see the pictures better and 2 guards came running over telling them to get off and stay off. Then they followed us through 3 more rooms and kept making comments about how they couldn't believe the kids had done that! Mind you, again, there were no signs. We decided we better leave. So we go outside to get a picture with the big statue in the photo above. You can see how far we are from the entrance, right? We are only about 20-30 feet from the street. When the kids sat on the edge of that rock ( for a picture) that the statue is on, I kid you not, a woman came RUNNING from the entrance yelling at them to stay off the statue! We were the only ones in the entire courtyard! I was never so irritated! They were all so rude to us and acted like they didn't want kids there. We asked the kids if they liked the exhibit. They said they did. We said, "Good, because this will be the last time we ever come to this museum."

Politics Politics

Well, I never thought I would be the political activist, but I think that is what the Lord is turning me into. I have written more emails to senators and reps, both state and national, in the past month than I ever have written to anyone. I guess there are too many things that need citizen outcry. Just watch Fox News and see for yourself. Or even better, visit www.parentalrights.org or www.hslda.org, and see. I am going out to collect signatures and money for parental rights soon, and have written asking them to revise the consumer product bill, which reeks, to vote down the stimulus package which won't stimulate anything but anger among citizens, to vote for the parental rights amendment and vote against the UNCRC, to vote no on the FOCA (please! we can choose to kill our unborn, but not how to raise our own!! stupidity at its best!), and to vote against HB 188 in Texas. I am probably getting on their nerves, but if people want change, you have to pester the snot out of the elected--in a polite, but point blank, manner of course. After all, that is why we have people in congress--they are there to make voices heard, and if we don't tell them what we want, it will never be fought for. And folks, this is going to be an administration where we HAVE TO stand up and shout. The majority of the newly elected folks will make America a socialistic state at BEST, given the chance. All the freedoms that were fought for, and which people have died for, will be for nothing if Obama and his crew have their way.
Ok, that is my pet project for the next 4 years or so!! Hope you will feel empowered to take action on the things that are precious to you!
